Our Hiring Process: Transparent, Fair and Supportive
At Arrupe Jesuit High School, we believe hiring is about more than filling a position—it’s about building a community rooted in shared values and purpose. Our hiring process is designed to be transparent, respectful, and efficient, helping you understand what to expect every step of the way. Whether you're applying for your first role in education or bringing years of experience, we’re committed to fairness and clear communication, so you can focus on showing us who you are and how you’ll contribute to our mission.
Submit Application
Start by searching for a job posting that aligns with your skills, interests, and values. Once you find a position that feels like a good fit, complete and submit the online application. Be sure to include all required documents and provide accurate information to give the hiring team a clear picture of your background and qualifications.
Complete Arrupe Aptitude Test
After submitting your application, you’ll be invited to take the Arrupe Aptitude Test via your confirmation email. This test is designed to assess your critical thinking, problem-solving, and job-related skills. The test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and helps us determine how well your abilities align with the demands of the role.
Complete Brief Phone Interview
If your test results and application meet our criteria, we’ll schedule a short phone interview. This 5–10 minute call allows us to verify key information from your application and get a quick sense of your communication skills, availability, and overall interest in the position.
Complete In-Person Interviews
Qualified candidates will be invited to participate in in-person interviews with members of our hiring committee. Depending on the nature of the role, this step may involve multiple rounds of interviews. It’s a chance for us to get to know you better and for you to learn more about our school culture and expectations.
Arrupe Reviews and Selects
After interviews are complete, our hiring committee will carefully review all candidates. This evaluation process can take one to two weeks, as we aim to ensure each hiring decision is thoughtful and based on a holistic assessment of each applicant's strengths and potential contributions to our community.
Receive Conditional Job Offer
If selected, you will receive a conditional job offer via email. This offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and any other pre-employment requirements. Once those conditions are met, you’ll be ready to join the Arrupe team.
Complete Onboarding
Once you’ve signed your Conditional Job Offer, you’ll officially begin the onboarding process. Before your first day, you’ll be asked to complete several digital forms to help us prepare for your arrival. On your first day at Arrupe, you’ll meet your team and supervisor, receive an introduction to our school culture and procedures, and begin any necessary training.
Candidate Tips: How to Stand Out from The Crowd
1. Tailor Your Application Materials
Customize your resume and cover letter to highlight experiences and skills that align specifically with the job you're applying for. Demonstrating that you’ve researched the role and understand the mission of Arrupe goes a long way.
2. Be Ready to Speak About Your Values
Arrupe places strong emphasis on community, service, and character. Be prepared in your interviews to share why these values resonate with you and how they’ve played a role in your personal or professional life.
3. Highlight Mission-Driven Experience
If you’ve worked in environments focused on education, equity, or service, be sure to emphasize that. Experiences that show your alignment with Jesuit values and a commitment to student success will help you stand out.
4. Prepare Specific Examples
Use real-life examples when answering interview questions—especially those that demonstrate your problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure clear, impactful answers.
5. Ask Thoughtful Questions
Come to interviews with a few questions about the school culture, expectations, or team dynamics. Thoughtful questions signal genuine curiosity and help you assess if the school is the right fit for you, too.
